As pandemic restrictions ease, Riga welcomes its third cruise ship this year

As of the 1st of September, cruise ship passengers, who have a valid European Digital Covid-19 certificate, will not have to fill out an electronic 'Covidpass' form when entering Riga seaport.

The amendments in the regulations stipulate cruise ships to check the validity of Covid-19 certificate presented by its passengers. Passengers, who will not have a valid Covid-19 certificate, will be required to complete a standard electronic 'Covidpass' procedure for entering Latvia.

On the 3rd of September, Oceania Cruises’ ship Marina, carrying 400 guests, mostly from USA, as well as from Canada, Mexico, UK, Germany and other European countries, called the seaport of Riga. Oceania Cruise voyages are operating with the requirement that 100% of guests and crew are vaccinated.

Oceania Cruises’ ship Marina has resumed its sailing after a break of 524 days. The voyage had started in Copenhagen on the 29th of August, further headed to Rostock, Ronne, Karlskrona, Klaipeda, Riga, Tallinn, Kotka, and Helsinki prior to concluding in Stockholm on the 8th of September.
