Lisbon shows off its hosting credentials

Every year those lucky enough to attend the CEC find themselves in another port sampling the delights of what is on offer to potential passengers visiting. This year it was Portugal’s capital, Lisbon.

This comes in the form of tours - the history of Fado, Lisbon by boat and the magnificent aqueduct - and restaurants - Cervejaria Trindade and La Distillerie - but also the operational in terms of organisation both by the host port and the tour operators.

For many of us there is a chance to see the port facilities. In this case the gala dinner was held in the Lisbon Cruise Terminal which had been transformed for the final evening of socialising, networking and just having fun on the dance floor!

Ana Lourenço, cruise and mega yacht department Port of Lisbon, and her team could not have looked after us better along with the excellent staff of Hotel Olissippo Oriente where the conference was held. Tania de Sales and her team from Wilhelmsen Port Services Portugal showed off not only what Lisbon had to offer in terms of tours and coach services but their organisation abilities.

And next year it is Stockholm’s turn to host CEC at a date yet to be decided.
