The cruise season is coming to an end in the Port of Gdynia. The port acted as gateway to the Pomorskie Region for over 94,000 passengers on 46 calls.

The Port of Gdynia Authority considers this season very important in terms of its future marketing offer. As part of the port’s development, a number of measures have been taken to improve the interest in the port among tourists and cruiselines.

In June this year the Polish port hosted two cruiseships simultaneously. The first of them berthed at the United States Quay, which was used in the past to serve cruise traffic. The other one visited the French Quay, which is now the primary place for the berthing of these ships. “The service of both units ran smoothly, which confirms the region's great potential to handle the increased touring traffic,” stated the port.

After a few years’ break, Gdynia was once again able to position cruise vessels at Pomorskie Quay, located in the centre of the city. Passengers arrive directly into the vicinity of, for example, a sandy beach, yacht marina, seaside boulevard, restaurants and shops. During the summer cultural and sports events and various forms of entertainment are also on offer.

Thanks to good organisation and cooperation with the City Hall, the whole operations concerning cruise vessel and its passengers went undisturbed.
