Trondheim upgrades its facilities

Friday, April 4, 2014 - 10:57 by ce-press

Trondheim is expecting its first of 57 calls in May. At the end of the season Fred Olsen Cruise Lines’ Black Watch will call on New Year’s Eve. Pullmantur has four turnaround calls scheduled and MSC Cruises is returning to the Norwegian port after an absence of a couple of years.

This year a new bollard is being installed which will make it more secure for those ships coming alongside the pier. Next year a tunnel will be built for passenger access so that they do not have to use the same routes as the provisioning trucks etc.

More space will be created for buses and a roundabout installed. Space will be made for shuttle buses inside the ISPS fence. The area around the harbour and the walk into the city will be made more attractive.
