Skagen’s new facilities open for business in April

In April the DKK226m new cruise facilities at Skagen will be up and running. There are 15 calls scheduled bringing 24,000 passengers, a 300% increase on 2014. By 2020 the hope is to have at least 40 calls and 80,000 passengers a year.

The new facilities include: a new basin with 450m of new quay giving a length overall of 330m iwth water depths of 11m; 1.3km of breakwater; extending the existing quay from 170m to 190m giving a loa of up to 220m; extending the port entrance from 80-250m; welcome facilities on both quays holding information and guidance, lounge, restrooms, free WiFi, crew facility, showroom and bike rental.

Local network Cruise Skagen Denmark is focusing on destination development, guide education, networking with national and international stakeholders within the business; marketing of Skagen and handling cruise calls in cooperation with tour operators and cruiselines.
