Skagen has established a stationery port reception facility for black and grey water. There are six shore connections at Cruise Quay 9 and two at Pier 10. Discharge is directly to the municipal sewage system via a 800m3 tank. About 200m3 can be handled per hour with the maximum capacity per call being 800m3.

Call numbers are more than doubling from 13 this year to 29 next. With 39,000 passengers arriving in 2017 this will be the biggest cruise season in Skagen’s history.

Inaugural calls to the city will be made by Independence of the Seas, Aurora, Mein Schiff 6, Vision of the Seas, Seven Seas Explorer and Marina as well as repeat calls including those from Saga Sapphire, Braemar, Seabourn Quest, Silver Whisper, Queen Elizabeth, Wind Surf, Silver Cloud, Arcadia, Sea Cloud II, Azamara Journey and National Geographic Orion.

“With the amount of cruiseship calls booked for 2017, we are really starting to see the effect of the new cruise facilities inaugurated in 2015,” commented chief executive officer Port of Skagen, Willy Hansen.
