Wastewater can be offloaded into tank trucks at the French Quay in Gdynia with a capacity of 5m3 to 30m3. It is then discharged into the municipal wastewater treatment plant. One-third of all sewage delivered from cruiseships is received without additional fee.

However in line with the modernisation of the French Quay, a direction connection will be available at the pier which will be in service by June 1 2019. It will be able to cope with 200m3 per hour.

Jan Lewko, marketing and development manager Port of Gdynia Authority, commented that it “would be perfect” to have cruiseline investment or commitment on calls for any such new facilities.

The Port of Gdynia is the only Polish port fully equipped to accommodate the largest cruisers entering the Baltic Sea.
