Cherbourg began the season on April 18 and by the end of July had welcomed 16 calls and 33,126 passengers and 14,202 crew members. The majority of passengers were British (14,093) followed by Americans (7,607) and Germans (3,278). So far there have been 224 embarking and 110 disembarking passengers.

Calls included nine maiden visits from vessels such as Viking Sea, Koningsdam, Sea Adventurer, Harmony of the Seas, Costa Favolosa, Regal Princess and National Geographic Orion.

In total about 6,926 passengers took shore excursions. The most popular destinations are the D-day Landing Beaches and sites of memories, Mont Saint Michel, marvel of the West and the picturesque Saire Valley.

Two-ship days occurred on May 3 (Viking Sea berthed Quai de France and MSC Opera docked Quai de Normandie) and May 30 (FTI Berlin and Prinsendam on Quai de France).

Two unexpected calls took place due to strikes in Le Havre: Koningsdam overnight in May and Artania in June.

In September, cruises will start again with nine calls expected including those from Celebrity Eclipse, Azura and Queen Elizabeth.

Next year 30 calls are expected with maiden visits from vessels such as Britannia and Norwegian Jade.
