On June 26 Cunard Line’s Queen Victoria called Klaksvik for the first time, opening the season.

Captain Inger Olsen, Cunard's first female captain, took her ship home to her birthplace. She joined the company in 1997 as first officer on Vistafjord and rose to the position of captain in December last year.

Passengers took excursions locally and throughout the Faroe Islands.

Call numbers to the Faroese port have doubled this year to 10, including calls from Princess Cruises’ Ocean Princess and Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Eclipse.

Klaksvik is located between two inlets on Bordoy.
