End of 2019 Cruise Season for Rouen

Monday, December 16, 2019 - 00:00 by rouen

The end of the 2019 cruise season will be marked by the arrival of the Magellan on the 16th December, for its French Christmas Market & River Seine cruise from Tilbury. CMV will be making 3 calls in December, one call from the Marco Polo and two by the Magellan, that will give passengers and crew the time to really enjoy the real hospitality of Rouen. Add to that the lively Christmas market, food and festive ambiance and one could easily be forgiven to lose your heart in the Capital of Normandy.

Rouen truly is a year-round destination and adding the fact that it is the biggest open-air shopping district in France after Paris. With its 3 000 boutiques including local boutiques, exclusive top end brands and international labels, it is no wonder that so many will choose Rouen as their destination for the festive season. One can enjoy hunting down the perfect gift, souvenir, antique, art or just to spoil yourself, in the heart of the picturesque medieval city centre hugged by half-timber houses and its cobbled stoned pedestrian streets.
Some prefer to visit its 8 free museums, that includes the Fine Arts Museum and its remarkable Impressionist collection, finishing off their day with a soothing cup of hot chocolate and French pastry in one of the many Salons de thé.

The first call for 2020 will be the Spirit of Discovery on the 13th to the 15th February, with a romantic mini cruise to Rouen, and according to SAGA “it's an unrivaled way to celebrate Valentine's Day”.
