A beautiful year for Cruise Port Rotterdam

This year, Cruise Port Rotterdam will be welcoming over 100 cruise ships. This includes numerous smaller and medium-sized vessels, but also liners that can carry over 4,000 passengers like MSC Preziosa. While this won’t be Preziosa’s first call on Rotterdam, this year is special: the ship will be mooring here a total of eight times (in May and August/September). MSC Preziosa has a maximum capacity of 4,345 passengers. So far, other similarly sized vessels that have put Rotterdam on their 2019 itineraries include Explorer of the Seas (4,029 passengers), MSC Grandiosa (4,888 passengers) and Costa Smeralda (5,200 passengers).
Huge and clean. During their Rotterdam calls, liners like AIDAperla (3,286 passengers) and Costa Smeralda will be refuelling LNG for their on board facilities. This means that their power consumption has a very limited impact on the local environment. Costa Smeralda already bunkers LNG as a transport fuel.
