Porto Cruise Terminal welcomed SILVER DAWN Inaugural Call

Porto Cruise Terminal welcomed for the first time the newest Silversea cruise ship SILVER DAWN.
The ship arrived on March 21 from Lisbon and leave the port on March 23 heading to Lisbon again.

She was sailing with 304 passengers on board who had the opportunity to visit Porto and the North of Portugal Region on some day trips scheduled for these days, including Douro.

It was the first inaugural call of the year at Leixões out of 20 new calls schedule for 2022.
As usual on these occasions, an plaque exchange ceremony with Port Authorities and Capt. Samuele Failla took place on board of SILVER DAWN celebrating this first visit to Leixões.

The Porto Cruise Terminal (Port of Leixões) is the main gateway by sea to Porto – the city of the Port Wine and the appropriate place to welcome all passengers from cruise liners. Equipped with comfortable facilities for tourists, Leixões features two cruise terminals. The Leixões Passenger Terminal is a wooden construction that resembles a ship’s hull, and is considered an important architectural and historical heritage. Since April 2011, it is in operation a new cruise quay 340m long and 300m length for berth (up to 320m upon request). Since then, the biggest and the most glamorous cruise ships from the worldwide cruise fleet are welcome here, boosting the cruise tourism in the North of Portugal region. The Porto Cruise Terminal it is in full operation since March 2015 and the main building has a capacity for 2.500 passengers in turnaround. Porto Cruise Terminal was planned to improve the whole cruise visitor experience!
