SAGA's SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE calls at Port of Leixões for the first time

On October 17 our Porto Cruise Terminal welcomed the first call of SAGA’s new ship SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE.

She was on her 14-day one way voyage from Dover to Southampton calling Brest, Saint-Nazaire, La Rochelle, Santander, Leixões, Huelva and Vigo.

Thirteen buses allowed the 768 passengers on board of this luxury cruise ship to visit Porto & North of Portugal Region during the day.

As it was ship’s first visit to Leixões, a plaques exchange ceremony adapted to the Covid-19 restrictions took place at the Porto Cruise Terminal quay early in the morning.

SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE is the most recent expedition ship operated by Saga Cruises launched during this year of 2021.

She was built at Meyer Werft shipyard (Papenburg, Germany) with a length of 236 metres and a maximum capacity to accommodate on board nearly 1.000 passengers and 540 crew members.

The Porto Cruise Terminal (Port of Leixões) is the main gateway by sea to Porto – the city of the Port Wine and the appropriate place to welcome all passengers from cruise liners. The Leixões Passenger Terminal is a wooden construction that resembles a ship’s hull, and is considered an important architectural and historical heritage.
