North Atlantic Agency (NAA) was established in 2013. It is a network of port agents providing full cruise and expedition agency services in the North Atlantic and Arctic. Its experience in dealing in harsh weather conditions sets it apart.

Founding partners are port agencies; Gara in Iceland, Faroe Ship Agency in the Faroe Islands and Royal Arctic Forwarding & Agency in Greenland. Behind these agencies are the biggest logistics companies in the north: Eimskip and Royal Arctic Line.

Project manager Gyda Guomundsdottir commented: “We knew that global agencies were moving in to the market in Iceland, Greenland and Faroe Islands, and being the local agents we decided to start working together. We found out that we share many clients which has proven to be beneficial for them as, together, we have a stronger network.”

The agency is able to offer a full range of freight logistics services and door-to-door transportation to and from all ports in the world. The partners have considerable experience in operating in the harsh conditions of the North Atlantic and Arctic.

The network is made up of members: Falck Agencies in Norway, FK Warren in Canada, Pole-Position in Svalbard and Denholm in the UK; and associate members Skeljungur/Magn (oil company) and Skipakostur (ship chandlers).

This year NAA handled 1,500 calls in ports ranging from Torshavn to Qaanaaq. Next year the estimate is for 2,000 calls.

NAA also has a shared sales and marketing function, for example taking a stand at Seatrade Europe and coordinating efforts in other trade shows.
