Wismar hosts concert premiere for Phoenix Reisen passengers

On December 3, passengers of Phoenix Reisen’s Albatros were treated to a Christmas concert premiere in St George’s church.

Based on the long-standing relationship of the tour operator with this Hanseatic city, the town authorities and the Columbus Cruise Centre Wismar management came up with the idea of this first-time Christmas concert at a breathtaking venue especially for passengers.

The one-hour performance for 450 consisted of Christmas favourites by the brass section of the Nordwestmecklenburg ‘Carl Orff’ music school under conductor Hartwig Kessler, together with the chorus of the Hanseatic city of Wismar. Passengers on the next two Albatros calls were also able to attend the concert.

Passengers also received a warm welcome at the quayside where maps were handed out. A show on board was given by the Blanke shanty choir and a noisy farewell by the traditional shooting club (Schutzenverein) of the Hanseatic city. Passengers also visited the Christmas market and old town.
