The cruise activity of the port of Lisbon in 2015 has been reaching very good results.
Regarding the variation between the 1st quarters of 2014/2015, the figures are quite promising for 2015, and considering that 2014 was the 4th best year ever of port of Lisbon cruise activity, there was a remarkable growth, calls (6%) and passengers (12%), that could evidence that we are facing a new growth cycle, reversing the last year trend. This year the port of Lisbon welcomes 11 cruise ships in first call, and for the 2nd half of 2015 we shall begin the Lisbon Cruise Terminal construction process in Santa Apolónia district, a state of art building, custom-made infrastructure that was design and planned to serve all needs, including the latest demands of the Cruise Industry.

Furthermore, Lisbon has also developments about new tours, new touristic attractions and even the latest UNESCO recognized attraction.

The port of Lisbon is a magnificent port of call for all cruise ships and offers excellent conditions for cruises around the Western Mediterranean and the North of Europe, transatlantic voyagers from East Coast of the USA and Brazil to Europe; and to the Atlantic islands and North Africa. Lisbon features two cruise terminals located in the historic city center and 8 km from the airport which together with the mild climate, the airlift connecting to several European and American destinations, the great diversity and quality of accommodation, make Lisbon a destination of excellence for cruise tourism. As far as cruise infrastructures is concerned, the port of Lisbon has a new cruise pier that, together with the existing one, offers to cruise companies approximately 1 500 meters of berthing quay. Simultaneous, the port has increased the existing terminal facilities, with 1 293 m2, building two new infrastructures with 500 m2 each.
