Harbour Highlights

1. Vágseiði viewpoint
   Here you'll get a panoramic view and feel the presence of the Atlantic Ocean and see the 200m high cliff Skúvanes and rocky reefs up close. Ruins from the old harbor and telpher line are visible.

   
2. Eggjarnar cliffs
   Here is a place of beauty and history. Eggjanar are 200m tall and here you'll have a unique view of the island's westside, the mountain Beinisvørð and the Atlantic Ocean. Ruins from WWII are visible.

   
3. Johanna TG326
   A 19th century schooner is dock at the harbor. This 140-year-old schooner is in great condition and used for excursions. Board Johanna TG326 and see how life on board a ship was in 1884.

   
4. Church of Vágur
   The 1939 new gothic style church is open for visitors. The church has many relics and artifacrs on display. The church has its own choir.

   
5. Ruth Smith Art Museum
   Ruth Smith is concidered to be one of Scandinavias finest painter and greatest colourist. The museum displays an extensive collection of the painter's paintings, drawings and portraits.

   
6. Lake Vatnið
   Lake Vatnið is located close to Vágseiði. Locals and visitors alike can walk around the lake and see the beautiful suroundings.

   
7. Beer tasting
   The local brewery offers beer-tasting events. Local legends inspire Biskupskelda's beers, and at the beer-tasting event, you will learn each beer's legend while enjoying the locally made craft beer.

   
8. Mountain Rávan
   Hiking to Rávan takes you up the mountain and pass the beautiful, pointy-peaked gorge Tindagjógv. Rávan is renowned for its unique nature and wonderful viewpoint of the majestic Atlantic Ocean.

   
9. Faroese Chain Dance
   Experience the ancient Faroese chain dance. The dance is a typical mediaeval ring dance and locals present the dance and you are welcome to join the chain of dancers.
