Harbour Highlights

1. King's Harbour
   King’s Harbour, our main port, is a historic natural harbor once used by Vikings and the King of Denmark. Today, it offers modern facilities with a dedicated cruise team ensuring a seamless visit. Guests can enjoy tailored experiences, including hikes around Lake Toftavatn, the Jellyfish Roundabout, Faroese chain dancing, local music, handicraft shopping, and guided bus tours.

   
2. Elduvík
   Elduvík is one of our four Expedition Cruise Destinations, a remote village with just 12 residents, offering a unique and authentic experience. The Port of Runavík provides tender access for select ships, with up to three visits per year. Visitors can enjoy guided hiking tours, a visit to the village church, traditional Faroese chaindance, and local music. Explore the Old School for local crafts, taste homemade fish soup at Eleina’s house, and see the iconic Marmennilin statue.

   
3. Funningur
   Funningur is one of our four Expedition Cruise Destinations, a charming village with 49 residents, offering a unique experience as one of Port of Runavík’s exclusive destinations, with only three visits per year. Visitors can shop local handicrafts, enjoy fish soup, coffee, and pancakes, and hear the farmer’s story about sheep farming. Experience the Faroese fishing boat, traditional chaindance, and local music. Hike to Hvíthamar or take a guided trek to the highest mountain in the Faroe Islands. See the Grímur Kamban statue and visit Ólvustova, an old Faroese home.

   
4. Oyndarfjørður
   Oyndarfjørður is one of our four Expedition Cruise Destinations, a peaceful village with 133 residents, offering an intimate, scenic glimpse into Faroese coastal life. With a limited number of visits per year, visitors can explore The Rocking Stones and hear the legend, shop local souvenirs, and enjoy hiking tours. Visit the church and learn about Faroese industries, including aquaculture.

   
5. Rituvík
   Rituvík is one of our four Expedition Cruise Destinations, a small and friendly village with about 350 residents, offering a relaxed glimpse into Faroese coastal life. With a limited number of visits per year, guests are warmly welcomed and shown the shoreline, gentle hiking routes, and the village’s maritime heritage. Visitors can browse local souvenirs, step inside the cosy 1955 church, and enjoy a calm, authentic visit to this charming coastal village.
