There are several first impressions about Torshavn and the Faroe islands, but before we get to those impressions, let's get a grammar issue out of the way: Although there are 18 of them, using the word "islands" is redundant, according a local guide here, because the "oe" part in Faroe means islands.

Cruise Europe's annual general meeting in Amsterdam last week was well attended by members and guests alike. Hosted by Amsterdam and IJmuiden, delegates took the opportunity to network and learn from each other as well as cruise line executives. In addition the association agreed to appoint a managing director for the first time in its history.
