Word of the chairman

Dear Members,

CRUISE EUROPE was founded in 1991 to market the cruise destinations in Northern and Western Europe to the cruise lines in order to attract ships to this region. Since a cruise always consists of more than one port, it is of advantage to the ports to be marketed together. This is why CRUISE EUROPE was started and began to market the whole region. The organisation quickly developed and grew bigger with the growing cruise industry, and today it has 104 member ports. The region is divided into 4 marketing fields: The Baltic, Iceland, Norway and the Faroe Islands, UK and Ireland, Europe West Coast. Cruise Europe enjoys the most significant growth of any cruise area and is today the largest growing source market for cruise passengers!

Today the most important work for CRUISE EUROPE is: to coordinate the 4 regions, to market Northern and Western Europe as a whole cruise destination, to maintain close connections with the cruise lines on such matters as future deployment, safety issues and environment and to cover the interests of the members in all matters concerning the ECC (European Cruise Council).

CRUISE EUROPE has a bright future ahead, but needs strong members, who support the work of the Council and the Management.
