Nordkapp

Through history North Cape has for tourists been the world’s northernmost point, standing on the gigantic cliff with panoramic views of the Arctic Ocean, you have reached one of the world’s most famous tourist attractions. Famous - not only due to location - but also due to the midnight sun. Here you will experience bright daylight even at midnight.

The port is situated in the heart of the town – near shopping, restaurants and activities. Honningsvåg is the administrative centre of the municipality and the port of Honningsvåg is the largest cruise port in Northern Norway and the gateway to the North Cape. North Cape region is the jewel of Arctic Europe and is for Europeans, what Alaska is for Americans. Take advantage of your moment in the north to experience one of Europe’s greatest and most accessible sanctuaries of atlantic birds. Be dazzled by millions of individual birds breeding, diving and flying at Gjesværstappan Nature Reserve.

In Honningsvåg you can have the ultimate experience in King Crab Safari – either by bus or by deep sea rafting. Learn about this famous creature’s life – participate in taking out King crabs from the tanks on shore and teach how to slaughter and cook it. Prepare a small meal of King crab and you can enjoy a taste of this special delicacy.

At the port you can also get a truly ice cold arctic experience visiting the Artico Ice Bar. Serving ice cold drinks in a bar made of pure ice from the lakes of Lapland.

The church is the only building left standing after the 2nd World War. Today the church is the oldest building in the area. A white wooden building, built in Neo-Gothic style in 1885. North Cape museum is a smaller museum with friendly atmosphere and presents Arctic fisheries and aspects of daily life of the coast of Finnmark. The museum is situated at the cruise port.

Arctic Guide Service provide guides and agents in your native language – what about a guided fishing village tour, guided visit to a Sami camp or walking tours in the arctic nature at the latitude of 71° north. Veolia Transport offers coaches of high standard to cruise liners.

Make a call to Port of North Cape also in wintertime. The Arctic winter climate makes it especially challenging and at the same time very exciting, to visit Europe's northernmost point at this time of the year. The northern lights, this spectacular phenomenon of dansing mystic lights on the dark winter sky, is to be seen from this point.

We welcome you to the very top of Europe both winter and summer! Please visit www.nordkapp.no for further information!
