Cherbourg

Easy access – Cherbourg is a deep water port that offers easy and safe access whenever you want, suitable for all Cruise ships without restriction. Warm welcome – Whatever the call, the cruise club of Cherbourg welcomes both guests and crew with free tasting of local products, horse carriage tours, art and local craft exhibitions, and an information desk for all tourist inquiries.

Historical port of departure – At the beginning of the 20th century, Cherbourg was one of the most important transatlantic ports in Europe. About 70 years later, The Cherbourg Cruise terminal, has retained its original features in a breathless Art Deco style, and also provides all modern and reliable services and port facilities for either a tourist or a turnaround destination.

In the heart of the city – Passengers have the choice of shopping, visiting the old quarters of Cherbourg and its famous sights such as the theatre, the shops, the exotic Emmanuel Liais garden… or eating out in one of the excellent restaurants along the quayside, all famous for seafood.

UNESCO World Heritage – The unspoiled shores of La Hague; the D-Day beaches and the UNESCO World Heritage sites always delight visitors. The Cherbourg Normandy Peninsula houses three UNESCO world heritage sites: The Mont Saint Michel, the famous Bayeux Tapestry relating the Norman Conquest in England and the towers of Vauban, architectural military wonders from the 17th century located in the Val de Saire.

The Cherbourg region is also home to famous artistic and historical figures such as Alexis de Tocqueville (Democracy in America), Jean- François Millet, the Impressionist who inspired Van Gogh, Jacques Prévert the poet and Christian Dior. Normandy is known for equine events; jazz music festivals, and outdoor activities. It is also rated the world’s tenth best golf destination. A large range of delicacies awaits your discovery: seafood; cider and apple products; honey and cakes; and many other specialities.

Cherbourg is a taste of France with something more!
