A major cruise liner port on the North-East coast of Scotland. Close to the magnificent Loch Ness, and its famous monster "Nessie". Deepwater fjord with several berths able to accommodate passenger ships up to 345 metres LOA, with a draught of up to 10.5 metres.

No tidal, beam or airdraught restrictions. Largest ship berthed to date, "Queen Mary 2"

Invergordon is the Gateway to the Scottish Highlands, and has many tourist attractions located close by, within reach of a half or whole day shore excursion.

Attractions include Urquhart Castle at Loch Ness, Cawdor Castle, Dunrobin Castle, Eilean Donan Castle and the Castle of Mey.

Activities include golf, hill walking, cycling, dolphin spotting and bird watching.

Many tours take in places such as whisky distilleries, Inverewe Gardens, Dornoch Cathedral, Fort George, Culloden Battlefield, Strathspey Steam Railway, Highland Wildlife Park, and Cairngorm National Nature Reserve, as well as shopping in the City of Inverness.

Invergordon shows 20% increase on previous record as season begins

Invergordon will welcome the first call of the 2012 season on April 25 with the arrival of Cruise & Maritime Voyages’ Marco Polo on one of four calls this year.

Cromarty Firth is due to welcome 64 calls this year, carrying 75,060 passengers between April and September.

Invergordon can now boast a 20% increase on the previous record for the number of ships that call in one season. Eight ships are paying a maiden visit in 2012 and it is projected that on 11 occasions, the Firth is expecting to host two ships at one time.

Invergordon is set to break records this year

Invergordon, a founder member of Cruise Europe 21 years ago, is looking forward to a record breaking cruise season in 2012.

This year the port is expecting 63 calls and nearly 75,000 passengers, beating the previous record number of calls by an extra 10.

MSC Cruises positions ship in Cork for the first time in 2012

MSC Cruises will be adding Cork to four new itineraries next summer giving passengers the opportunity to embark and disembark MSC Lirica in Cork for the first time.

Lorenzo Diamantini, director of sales for Ireland and Northern Ireland MSC Cruises, said: “The company is featuring the two ports [Cork and Dublin] due to the incredible growth it has experienced in the Irish market over the last three years. By positioning one of our ships in Cork, we can give many more local passengers the opportunity to experience the superb itineraries on offer.”
