Port of Elsinore reopens for all cruise vessels in May 2011 after a total rebuilding into the "Cultural Port of Elsinore". The new ISPS appoved "Royal Quay" have facilities for both cruise vessels alongside and tenders from anchored cruise vessels. There is ample size for Busparking just 10 meters away from the quayside. Maximum size for Cruise vessels alongside is 150 meter with a draught up to 6,5 meter and no limits for Cruise vessels at anchor. Tenders are facilitated at the new 15 meter floating tenderpier wich takes 2 tenders at the time. The well sheltered anchorage with +20 meters of waterdepth is situated only 0,3 nm away from the breakwater and with easy acces to the port.

There is a longstanding tradition that Elsinore is the first city to be visited by Queen Margrethe of Denmark at the onset of the annual summer cruises with the royal yacht ‘Dannebrog’.
