Fredrikstad

Fredrikstad

Fredrikstad is located just 1.5 hours from Oslo and about 50 minutes away from the Swedish border. The town is well known for different types of architectural sights, as well as being one of the hosts of Tall Ships race and having a thriving cultural scene. Fredrikstad has a rich history with Northern Europe’s best kept Fortified town, Gamlebyen, dating back to 1567, and the famous Ancient Trail with an astonishing collection of mystic stone circles, majestic burials and images chiseled in stone.

Outside Fredrikstad, you will find the Hvaler Islands. Hvaler consists of 833 islands, islets and skerries, a coastal eldorado just waiting to be discovered.

With its location, Fredrikstad Cruise Port is a gateway to Østfold and the Oslofjord. The port has three quays, two of which are located by the Fortified town, on either side of Glomma, Norway's longest river.
