Cherbourg marks the 100th anniversary of Titanic

On 10 April 1912 Titanic called in Cherbourg, embarking 281 passengers by port tenders.

In relation to this 100th anniversary, the French port will receive two calls: Cruise & Maritime Voyages’ Marco Polo on April 11 which will embark passengers and Saga Cruises’ Saga Pearl II on April 14.

The ships are linking different calls dedicated to the Titanic history: Cobh in Ireland where Titanic called on April 12 to embark passengers; Belfast where Titanic was built at the Harland & Wolff shipyard; Liverpool where the head office of White Star Line was based.

Cherbourg : second double prestigious stopovers in September 2011

Cherbourg welcomed this week two prestigious vessels for the second time in September. After Marco Polo and Silver Whisper calls on Tuesday the 6th, Queen Mary 2 from Cunard fleet and the Prinsendam from Holland America Line berthed both on Tuesday the 13rd in Cherbourg Port.

For passengers on board of the QM2 is a special cruise of 9 days begun on the 12nd of September from Southampton and living for a British Isles Cruise.
