Ullapool

The picturesque fishing village of Ullapool is one of the best natural deepwater harbours in the country.  Carved out by the glaciers of the last ice age, Ullapool is steeped in over 200 years of history initially developed as a herrring port in 1788.  The harbour offers excellent protection from open waters and has been recognised as a seafarer’s haven for centuries with Vikings being some of it's first visitor
