The Port of La Rochelle is one of the most easily accessible from the open sea on the French Atlantic coast, and can accommodate vessels up to 14m draught. Any cruise ship can berth quickly (less than 45 minutes between taking on a pilot and mooring) at any time (no tidal constraint) and in perfect safety (the Antioche Channel offers a large secure bay sheltered by the islands of Oléron and Ré).
