The Port of Turku is applying environmentally-based port fees.
The fees are designed to credit shipping companies which have invested in the reduction of exhaust gas emissions. The lower the fuel sulphur content or nitric emissions are, the higher the discount is.
A new – and totally free - offer for cruise vessels is reception of blackwater at the port during 2010 and 2011. This is the port’s environmental contribution to improving the state of the Baltic Sea.
