London Central Cruise Moorings (LCCM) has Silversea Cruises’ Silver Cloud and Silver Whisper booked in for the Olympics 2012. The former will be at Tower Bridge Upper and the latter at Greenwich Ship Pier.
This year the port has 15 cruiseships booked with a similar number already signed up for 2011.
A highlight of 2010 was the christening of Seabourn Cruise Line’s Seabourn Sojourn on June 4 and embarkation of 415 passengers. Once again Silver Cloud will turnaround at Tower Bridge Upper alongside HMS Belfast. In addition Amadea will call for the first time in Greenwich.
LCCM consists of St George’s Stairs Pier, Tower Bridge Upper (160m long, 6m draught) and Greeenwich Ship Pier (220m long and 8.4m draught). Abou 1,500 passengers can be turned around at the latter by putting a welcome pontoon alongside the ship.
LCCM has been under franchise and contract to the Port of London Authority since 2000.
