Trondheim passengers up by 10,000

Submitted by CE-Press on 5 July 2010 - 9:11am

Trondheim is expecting about 10,000 more passengers this year, 62,500, than last year when 51,906 passengers visited. Call numbers have increased from 41 to 50 in 2010. The Norwegian port is also homeport to Kristina Cruises’ Kristina Regina.

There is a dedicated cruise quay just a kilometre from the city centre. It is 96m long and has a depth of 13m. A second quay which can be used for cruiseships is two kilometres from the centre, has a length of 90m and a depth of 8.7m.

Anchorage is also available. The maximum size of ship that can be accommodated at the port is 350m length and 13m draught.

There are rarely more than two cruise calls at the same time except for Hurtigruten.

Although free shuttle buses are not provided, a recently established cruise network for the region is working on free buses for some calls, according to Daniel Flathagen, marketing consultant Port of Trondheim.
