12-Night itineraries include calls to Scandinavia, Germany and Russia
DOVER, England (June 8, 2010) – The Disney Magic cruise ship will call on the Port of Dover for the first time, as part of an extended season of special Mediterranean and Northern European itineraries, the latest example of Disney’s global expansion in the family cruising market. Beginning Saturday, June 12, the ship will sail four, 12-night cruises round-trip from Dover to ports in Scandinavia, Germany and Russia, providing families with a unique way to see world-famous cities throughout Europe.
“We are thrilled to begin this new itinerary, and call the Port of Dover our home for the next few weeks.” said Karl Holz, president of Disney Cruise Line. “This region of the world holds great appeal and we are very excited to finally give our guests the opportunity to combine an authentic Northern European experience with a fun, family-friendly cruise that only Disney can deliver.”
Disney’s Northern European itineraries are part of an extended season of cruises in both the Baltic and Mediterranean regions.
“We are delighted to welcome the Disney Magic for its first call at the Port of Dover,” said Kate O’Hara, Head of Commercial and Marketing at the Port of Dover. “It is fitting that such a globally iconic brand should have an equally iconic location, against a backdrop of the famous White Cliffs. So begins, what we hope will be, a magical relationship with Dover, the Port of Kings.”
Port of Dover
With the backdrop of the stunning White Cliffs and nearby world-famous city of London, Dover boasts the perfect embarkation port for a Northern European cruise itinerary.
