St Petersburg is expecting 171 calls and 350,000 passengers this year compared to 113 calls and 245,000 passengers in 2009.
The reason for this is that there are five berths and two terminals available for cruiseships this year whereas in 2009 there were only two berths and one terminal.
Expansion plans continue next year with the construction of two more quays and another cruise terminal. The port has its own 80m-wide approach channel. The longest ship that can tie up is 320m and this is in accordance with St Petersburg regulations, explains Andrey Federov, commercial director MC Marine Facade.
Additional services, such as water bunkering, waste water and garbage collection are all available at the quays.
