The remembrances of the centenary of the Titanic’s wreck will take place in April, 2012.
Following her maiden World Voyage Queen Elizabeth, the newest liner owned by cruise line Cunard will be visiting Cherbourg for the first time ever. she will be embarking on four unique voyages in which she makes a maiden visit to a new region. The Queen Elizabeth venue is the last call for the season, which brings for Cherbourg passenger numbers to about 31600 and calls to 21.
Queen Elizabeth, inaugurated in Southampton at the beginning of October 2010, will succeed Queen Elizabeth 2.
A new cruise berth and terminal at Arendal in Gothenburg will be ready for use in April 2011.
Oceania Cruises’ newbuilding 66,000gt Marina will be calling Douglas, Isle of Man, on July 24 2011 during her inaugural year.

During the double call of Celebrity Eclipse and P&O Arcadia at Le Havre this All Saint’s Monday many passengers enjoyed shopping at Docks Vauban, a recently refurbished shopping centre in old the port’s warehouses. As for Fine Arts lovers they had the great opportunity to visit Malraux Museum and its new temporary exhibition from the impressionist painter Signac. Mariehamn has plans to dedicate one of its berths to cruiseships, either berth 1 or 2, and will begin extending berth 6 next year for completion in 2013, says Guy Dannstrom, port manager.
The works for the construction of the new Terminal for reception of cruise passengers have began last Monday 18th October, and will be concluded by spring next year, before the beginning of the peak season for the cruise traffic in the port of A Coruña.

The Propeller Club of Le Havre held its 320ème monthly meeting last week with a special focus on cruise development. Thierry Dhal, Chairman of the Le Havre Propeller Club, welcomed the day’s guest Valerie Dubuc, Cruise Project Director at the Le Havre Tourist Office. Dubuc emphasized the economic impact of cruise industry and the growing cruise traffic at Le Havre (+ 50 % within 2 years) pointing out that next year Le Havre will be a turnaround port for Costa. Those positive perspectives were cheered up by the attendees.
As Copenhagen’s cruise summer season came to an end on October 6 with the arrival of Marco Polo, the Danish port already had 50 more calls booked for 2011 than this year.
Invergordon’s season drew to a close with the arrival of Fred Olsen Cruise Lines’ 28,388gt Boudicca (ex Royal Viking Sky) in early October bringing call numbers to the Scottish port to a record 53.
Le Havre’s cruise authorities welcomed Captain Keith Dowds, on the occasion of the inaugural call of the Azura to Le Havre on Saturday (10.16.10). The cruise season will end with a call of Celebrity Eclipse on November 1st, followed by Queen Victoria on December 19th. The 2011 program will be exceptional with 91 calls (the biggest number ever reached at Le Havre). The Azura will come back and her sister-ship Ventura is also expected at “The gateway to Paris” next year.
Since August this year, air draught restrictions at the Riga Passenger Terminal have been eliminated due to the removal of a power cable over the River Daugava.

Port of Bergen and Cruise Destination Bergen can note a new record this year, 291.877 passengers visited Bergen, an increase of 3,2% from 2009 season. With this result, Bergen confirms it's role as the leading cruise port in Norway. The number of calls decreased by 19 to 241 compared to 260 in 2009.
