22 Jun 2010 - Hafnarfjordur breaks size record

On June 11, 95,000gt MSC Poesia docked in Hafnarfjordur. At 300m long she is the largest vessel to have docked at the Icelandic port.


22 Jun 2010 - Harwich has less calls in 2010

Harwich has 26 calls booked in 2010 compared to 46 turnaround and six transit calls in 2009 bringing a total of 135,000 passengers to the east coast of England port.


15 Jun 2010 - Arrival of the Queen Victoria on the 23rd of July 2010 in Cherbourg

Cherbourg is preparing to receive the prestigious Cunard vessel Queen Victoria next month. The cruise ship is starting a special cruise on the theme of the “Celtic Legends” and for the occasion Cherbourg will welcome the boat with a photo exhibition on the E. Liais Museum called “Terres Celtiques”.

Turku is expecting eight calls and 3,000 passengers this year as it did last.

Scrabster is expecting six turnaround and four transit calls this year compared to four plus three in 2009.


10 Jun 2010 - Eidfjord, Hardangerfjord; Spectacular helicopter flights

This summer a low sound helicopter taking 4 passengers will be permanently based in Ulvik, Hardangerfjord.  It will cover all calls at the port of Eidfjord.


10 Jun 2010 - German Ambassador thanks Port of Eidfjord

May 23rd a fire broke out in the engine room of m/s "Deutschland" while berthing in Eidfjord, Hardangerfjord, Norway. Fortunately no one was hurt, but all the passengers and crew had to be evacuated.  The ship was towed back to Germany for repairs.


09 Jun 2010 - Disney Cruise Line Set to Call on the Port of Dover for the First Time

12-Night itineraries include calls to Scandinavia, Germany and Russia

DOVER, England (June 8, 2010) – The Disney Magic cruise ship will call on the Port of Dover for the first time, as part of an extended season of special Mediterranean and Northern European itineraries, the latest example of Disney’s global expansion in the family cruising market.
