Cruise Europe's annual general meeting in Amsterdam last week was well attended by members and guests alike. Hosted by Amsterdam and IJmuiden, delegates took the opportunity to network and learn from each other as well as cruise line executives. In addition the association agreed to appoint a managing director for the first time in its history.

11 May 2010 - Dredging at IJmuiden will secure an extra 17 calls in 2011

Ijmuiden has 10 confirmed calls and 25 on option for 2011.


11 May 2010 - Antwerp redevelops Scheldtquays

Antwerp is redeveloping its Scheldtquays in the coming years with quay 20-21 remaining the designated cruise quay, according to Igor Daems, cruise terminal manager at Antwerp Cruise Port.


10 May 2010 - A cruise rock’n roll in Hamburg

Hamburg. The month of May in Hamburg will be completely dominated by the cruise industry. 29 arrivals in all are expected, together with a spectacular ships’ parade by the cruisers to mark the official birthday of the Port of Hamburg. This bids fair to be the biggest port festival in the world.

Hamburg, 7 May 2010 - Cruise Europe has appointed a managing director for the first time in its 20-year history at a time when the European cruise arena is taking centre stage.


05 May 2010 - Aarhus prepares for bumper year in 2011

This year may be a lean one for Aarhus with only three calls booked but it is giving the Danish port ample time to prepare for 24 calls and 75,000 passengers in 2011.
