On August 8 Oceania Cruises’ Marina and SeaDream Yacht Club’s SeaDream 1 called Santander for the first time. They moored in the city centre, either side of the Pont Aven ferry.
New chairman, Jose Joaquin Fernandez Sieso presented plaques to the captains of both ships.
Both the port and the city of Santander in Spain are hoping to welcome more and more ships particularly once the Waterfront projects, including the Botin International Culture Centre next to the passenger terminal, are completed.
The whole project is due for completion in 2014 in time for the ISAF (International Sailing Federation) World Championships.
