The Folgefonna Summer Ski Center, which is 30 minutes from Jondal Cruise Port and 60 minutes from Rosendal, opens in May following some major improvements.

The ski-lifts have been extended by 300m up to 1,600m above sea level providing a 180-degree view stretching from the North Sea to Hardangerfjord. A new panoramic slope for beginners has been constructed.

The ski center is on top of Folgefonna glacier, Norway’s youngest national park, and is open from May until September. Cruiseline shore excursions include refreshments in the cafe and a bus drive to the Herand Village.

Another excursion option is available from Folgefonni Breforarlag’ skilled instructors who are offering ice-climbing on the glacier for all age groups from skilled instructors.
