Due to a very mild winter and a long and warm summer the work on the construction of the new cruise facilities in Skagen has been quicker than expected and will therefore be operational by February 2015.

The 1.3km breakwater is well on the way to being completed. The 507m concrete construction of the new quay and the mounting of bollards is complete. The dredging of the new basin to remove 580,000m3 of sand is almost done.

Design of the reception facilities serving the new cruise quay, pier 9, and the existing cruise quay, pier 10 is due to begin and is based on cruiseline input gathered by Bermello, Ajamil & Partners Inc in 2013.

Skagen had 11 calls this season including SeaDream 1, Arcadia and Queen Victoria. An average of 83.8 % of the passengers went ashore despite Skagen being presently mainly a tender port.
