Holland America Line’s Ryndam and Kristina Cruises’ Kristina Katarina called Skagen for the first time this summer.
On June 30 both ships called the same day. While Kristina Katarina came alongside, Ryndam - the largest ship to call this year - was anchored outside. The percentage of passengers going ashore varies between 85% and 90%.
In total there have been seven calls this year while next year eight have so far been confirmed. Anne Sofie Jensen of Cruise Top Denmark says: “We expect to have a few more.”
Four ships will be calling for the first time in 2012, Saga’s Saga Sapphire, SeaDream Yacht Club’s SeaDream II and Azamara Club Cruises’ Azamara Journey and Seabourn’s Seabourn Sojourn.
