More than 35,600 cruise tourists have visited Estonia’s biggest island, Saaremaa, through the Saaremaa Harbour in the past 10 years. Since 2006, 30 different cruiseships, owned by 19 cruise companies, have made 66 calls. The busiest seasons have been in 2013 and 2014 when 14,000 passengers visited.
Saaremaa differs from other destinations on the Baltic by its pristine nature and rich and unique cultural heritage offering passengers an opportunity to see Estonia from a completely different angle.
Saaremaa Harbour, which is located in Ninase village by Kudema Bay, was planned and built for servicing cruiseships. This is said to make it unique in the region. The deepwater port established in spring 2006 has two quays for servicing ships up to 200m in length and also a quay for auxiliary vessels and a floating berth for small crafts.
