On May 25 Cunard Line’s Queen Victoria was the first ship to call at the new anchorage point in the Forth near Newhaven Harbour, Edinburgh.

The vessel was successfully anchored in deep water off Newhaven in the morning and over 1,500 international passengers travelled the short distance in tenders to the harbour which is close to Edinburgh’s city centre.

This inaugural call is part of Forth Ports’ cruise programme to identify alternative deepwater anchorage options and landing stages to bring larger cruiseships closer to Scotland’s capital city.
