Queen Mary 2 docks in Denmark for the first time

Submitted by CE-Press on 4 February 2011 - 7:49pm

Aarhus will be greeting Queen Mary 2 on August 12. It will be the first time the Cunarder will dock in a Danish port, says Vibeke Jorgensen at VisitAarhus.

Princess Cruises’ Emerald Princess will also be calling for the first time and will make a total of 11 calls this summer.

Costa Cruises will be calling for the fourth summer running and Fred Olsen Cruise Lines will be back twice with Black Watch and Boudicca. Together with Windstar Cruises’ Wind Spirit there will be a total of 18 calls.

Although the port has had more calls before, the passenger numbers will be at their highest yet at about 40,000 passengers signifying the growing size of the vessels.

VisitAarhus is currently training new guides and planning new activities to ensure passengers get the best from their visits.
