Oslo

Oslo can receive all kinds of black and grey water at the main pier, Sondre Akershuskai. However the municipality does not want food waste or grease included in the wastewater.

All five cruiseship berths can handle connections with trucks and one has a pipeline connection to the municipality’s wastewater system. The Port of Oslo provides a standard sewage hose of 100mm (4’’) with a capacity of approximately 150 m3 per hour with a maximum pressure acceptable of 5 bar. If other dimensions are required to connect to a ship it must be ordered. The charges are included in the waste fee.

The main obstruction to putting in place sufficient facilities is “return on investment and demand” according to Anette Braekke, marketing manager cruise Port of Oslo, who explained that these facilities are driven by municipality requirements.
