On the 5th of may the cruise ship „ms Astor“ called Wismar at 8:30 am at the berth 17 after it completed its previous trip through the Baltic sea.
The „ms Astor“ owned by Transocean Cruises is a symbol of classic cruise tradition and due to its size it is able to call also smaller ports.
334 passengers left the ship in the hanseatic city Wismar and 396 new passengers boarded the “ms Astor” to start the next journey. This was the very first full passenger turnaround in Wismar.
The Columbus Cruise Center Wismar (CCCW) was well prepared for the arrival. Passengers were handled according to ISPS standards and enough equipment and personnel was on site to load luggage and provisions onto the ship.
The traditional plaque and key ceremony was held on Sunday at 11:00 am at the „ms Astor”. Mr. Andreas Nielsen and the governing mayor of Wismar Mr. Thomas Beyer represented the city on board for this occasion.
The „ms Astor“ left Wismar accompanied by the Blänke chanty choir on Sunday evening at 6:00 pm.
