Warrenpoint on Carlingford Lough in Northern Ireland is in its infancy when it comes to cruise. It had its first and only call from Saga Pearl II in July 2014 with a repeat booked next year due to the success of the visit.

Most of the town turned out to welcome the ship and a brass band was playing on the quayside. Those making the short walk into the town were treated to live bands, Irish dancing, local food markets, crafts stalls, face painting and more all put on especially for the call.

Passengers can opt for a full day tour to the museum Titanic Belfast, a visit to the Mountains of Mourne, Narrow Water Castle dating back to the 1660s, Newry for shopping and museum and cathedral, the Ring of Gullion, amongst others.

Warrenpoint has six berths with 300m quay dredged to 7.5m and 300m to 5.4m. Vessels up to 165m in length, 7.5m draught and 40m beam can dock. The tidal range is 4m and pilotage is compulsory, the pilot station being 10nm to the berth. There is no dedicated cruise berth, all being shared with general cargo vessels. The prevailing winds are westerly and towage is available. Freshwater is available on the quayside as well as garbage and sewage collection. Bunkering is by tanker.

It is just 300m from the quay to the town centre but a shuttle bus is also available.
