New Hiking Tour in Trondheim

Wednesday, April 22, 2015 - 12:38 by trondheim

In October 2014 the draw bridge connecting the two main quays in Trondheim was opened. Finally, that allows pedestrians to walk straight from the cruise quay to the neighbourhood Ila. Ila connects the city centre of Trondheim with the suburbs in the west. Passing by lovely wooden houses you will find the trail leading up to the lake "Theisendammen". The trail follows the stream upwards through a valley surrounding you with the regions typical flora. Wooden staircases and waterfalls set the tone for this enjoyable hike. After only around 120min. you will arrive at the breathtaking viewpoint by the lake from which you will see the city centre of Trondheim. As Norwegians traditionally do on a hike, you will also have the pleasure of enjoying a "Kvikk Lunsj" (chocolate bar). The way back leads downhill through a calm neighbourhood back to the city centre. The hiking tour is a 3 hours tour that offers the possibility to stay in the city centre. There is no need to take the bus. This tour can be combined with a visit to Sverresborg Open Air Museum.
