In April Voyages of Discovery’s Discovery called at Quai Chevire which is 10 minutes from Nantes city centre by shuttle bus. She is the first call at this alternative quay at the French port. It can accommodate ships up to 205m in length and 7.1m draught.
With this pier, Nantes Saint-Nazaire is now able to offer four berthing options: Quai Chevire and Quai Wilson in Nantes, the container terminal in Montoir (under certain conditions) and a berth in Sainte-Nazaire for ships up to 180m in length.
On October 7, Hurtigruten’s Fram will call Nantes for the first time. Next year Ocean Nova will be a newcomer to the port when she calls in April. Five or six calls are expected in 2012 according to Laurence Paitel, Port Atlantique Nantes Saint-Nazaire.
