Le Havre’s port was established in 1517 by King Francis 1. Five hundred years on, MSC Cruises chose the French port as the first homeport and christening venue for its newbuilding, MSC Meraviglia.

The company is an old-established partner of Le Havre. Since 1994 MSC Armonia, Lirica, Magnifica, Musica, Opera, Sinfonia, Splendida and Rhapsody have docked at the Pointe de Floride.

In 2013, the company positioned MSC Opera in Le Havre for eight turnarounds with 10 the following year. This year, apart from the inaugural voyage of MSC Meraviglia, French passengers will be able to board MSC Preziosa in the French port from September 5 to October 10.

This year there will be several full day calls from MSC Preziosa (0800-2200) and next year MSC Magnificia (0700-2000).

MSC Cruises has showed its commitment to Le Havre with the announcement of 26 turnarounds (mostly interporting) in 2018, including 23 on MSC Magnifica, two on MSC Meraviglia and one on MSC Preziosa. Costa Cruises and Princess Cruises also have a handful of similar calls this year and next

Le Havre is accessible 24/7 and has the capacity to host the biggest cruiseships. The port has three dedicated cruise berths and can accommodate up to four vessels. It accepts year-round home and transit calls and is also a convenient repositioning port to Northern Europe and the Baltic during spring, and the Mediterranean and the Caribbean in autumn. With the extension of the cruises season, Le Havre is also a safe shelter port in case of bad weather conditions.

The partners of Club Croisiere du Havre do all that they can to make every call special.
