Lisbon is expecting a new record in 2011 with 328 calls and about 500,000 passengers.
This follows a successful 2010 when the Portuguese port welcomed 448,497 passengers, up 8% on 2009. This growth was achieved largely through a 19% increase in transit passengers to 395,884.
Cruise calls in 2010 numbered 299, up 2% from 294 in 2009 and a return to the growth trend of previous years. The port set a new record hosting 111 different cruiseships.
Also during the year Lisbon received 19 maiden calls, 10 of which were from ships recently delivered from the shipyards.
